What is a fanlisting, exactly?

About the site

This fanlisting, created and run by Abbie, has been approved on June 1st 2008 by The Fanlistings Network. It has been online and listing members since June 21st 2008 and is part of Anaphora, a fanlisting collective. The layout, made in Adobe Photoshop CS, features Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man. All photos (layout, buttons...) are from the official Iron Man website. This website, a non-profit fanlisting, is in no way affiliated with official Iron Man sites. It is owned by a fan, and was made for fans.

Who is Tony Stark?

Anthony "Tony" Edward Stark, more commonly known as Tony Stark or Iron Man, is a character many people know from the new movie Iron Man, released in 2008 and directed by Jon Favreau. Stark is played by Robert Downey Jr., who stars alongside Gwyneth Paltrow (Virginia "Pepper" Potts) and Terrence Howard (Lt. Colonel James "Rhodey" Rhodes), among others.
Tony Stark, CEO of Stark Industries, a weapons manufacturer for the US Military, is kidnapped by Afghan captors who want him to design weapons for them. Instead of cooperating, he secretly builds a powerful suit of armor in order to escape. Once home, he understands how powerful the suit is and decides to rebuild another to help mankind.

My opinion: to me, this character is interesting as he evolves a lot throughout the movie. After witnessing the death of young American soldiers, he turns from a rich playboy into a right-thinking man whose goal is to help his kind by using the suit. I believe Robert Downey Jr. portrays this character excellently.
